Choosing the type of funeral

Cremation

Wishes of a loved one may be the preference of cremation. A service may take place prior to the crematorium (church or other location). Most crematoriums provide room where the service can take place. Cost of cremation is generally lower than burial.

Burial

Wishes of a loved one may be the preference of burial. A service may take place prior to burial (church or other location). A service at the graveside is also available. A new lair can be purchased in any cemetery or reopening of a family plot.

Funeral Price Guide

All personnel necessary to make the funeral arrangements available 24 hours a day to carry out arrangements in accordance with instructions. Attending to all necessary funeral arrangements including liaison with all third parties and completion of all documentation. Advice on the certification and registration of death and related documentation, including the Benefit Agency (DWP). Confidential advice concerning social and personal matters and provision of ongoing assistance thereafter. The funeral director and all necessary personnel to conduct the funeral in accordance with instructions.

All staff and equipment necessary for the preparation and care of the deceased and dressing in own clothes or robe as required and laying to rest in coffin selected. The use of Chapel of Rest or rest rooms as a suitable location for the deceased until the funeral date, including viewing, if desired.

(Embalming of the deceased is an additional option at a cost of £150.00)

We have a fleet of a hearse, 2 limousines and saloon vehicles available. Additional limousines, cars or alternative transport such as horse drawn carriage are all subject to availability.

Church organist, church officer etc start from approx. £50 depending on the church.

Reception of coffin

Payments made on behalf of clients for Cemeteries/Crematorium fees, embalming and reception of coffin to church or home etc. are additional and are detailed separately on the Funeral Estimate/Account.

A supplementary charge is payable for funerals conducted on a Saturday and Bank Holidays.

  • Option for applicant to collect cremated remains or scatter in the garden of remembrance

In accordance with the Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors Code of Practice we offer a basic Funeral that includes the following:

  • Making all necessary Funeral arrangements providing professional advice on the certification, registration of death and all related documentation
  • Removal of the deceased to a suitable resting place allowing 20 running miles within normal working hours
  • Provision of a simple veneered coffin and conveyance by hearse direct to a local cemetery or crematorium with no choice of day, date, and time of Funeral
  • Provide the Funeral Director and all necessary personnel to conduct the Funeral

Cost £1760

Price excludes third party payments made on your behalf. Full payment must be made before time and date of funeral is put in place.
